Barry Olson, P.Eng.
President & Chief Executive Officer         

Barry Olson is a petroleum engineer with 28 years of industry experience. Mr. Olson graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Petroleum Engineering Degree from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1983 and is a registered member of APEGGA. Prior to Orleans, Mr. Olson was employed as Manager, Corporate Development & Marketing with U.S. independent, Tom Brown Resources Ltd. Mr. Olson was instrumental in the $145 million corporate acquisition of Stellarton Energy Corp., providing the initial entry into Canada for Tom Brown Inc. Mr. Olson has held management and executive positions in several publicly traded oil and gas companies, including Ionic Energy Ltd., Scorpion Energy Inc., Orbit Oil & Gas Ltd., Chancellor Energy Ltd., Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. and Unocal Canada Ltd.
 

 


Rick Schuster, P.Geol.
Executive Vice President Exploration & Development

Rick Schuster is a geologist with 24 years experience. He graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science (Geology) Degree from Lakehead University in 1985 and is a member of the CSPG, AAPG and APEGGA.  Prior to Orleans, Mr. Schuster was most recently employed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Oiltec Resources Ltd, a publicly traded oil and gas company listed on the TSX. Mr. Schuster co-founded Oiltec in 1992 as a private company. Oiltec was sold in June, 2004 for total consideration of approximately $60 million.  Mr. Schuster has held various positions including Vice President Exploration, President, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and Director for several private and public companies including Oiltec Resources Ltd., Cherryhill Resources Inc., Rosebay Resources Inc. and Rix Resources Ltd.
 

 


Dean Bernhard, B.Comm., CMA
Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer

Dean Bernhard is a professional accountant with 17 years of oil and gas experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance degree (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991. Mr. Bernhard obtained his Certified Management Accountant designation in 1997. Mr. Bernhard was most recently employed as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of E3 Energy Inc., a publicly traded oil and gas company listed on the TSX, which effected a business combination with StarPoint Energy Ltd. in January 2005. Mr. Bernhard began his career with Amoco Canada Limited and has held progressively more senior financial positions in the areas of corporate finance, treasury, financial accounting, taxation, investor relations, budget planning and corporate reporting, with Crestar Energy Inc., Tarragon Oil and Gas Limited, Marathon Oil Canada Limited and Compton Petroleum Corporation.

 

 

Brent Spice, P. Eng.
Vice President Engineering

Brent Spice is an Engineer with 27 years of experience in Production, Exploitation and Facility Engineering.  He graduated from the University of Calgary in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering degree.  Mr. Spice has been a member of APEGGA since 1983.  Prior to Orleans, Mr. Spice was Manager, Engineering with Seneca Energy Canada.  Throughout his career he has held various positions with increased responsibilities in a number of companies including Ketch Energy, Avid Oil & Gas, Northrock Resources, Fletcher Challenge Energy Canada and Dome Petroleum.

 

 

Calvin House, B.B. Admin.
Vice President Land & Marketing

Calvin House, is a Landman with 21 years of experience in Land, Acquisitions & Divestitures and Marketing. He graduated from the University of Regina in 1988 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  Mr. House has been a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen since 1995.  Prior to Orleans, Mr. House was Land Manager with Husky Oil Operations Limited.  Throughout his career he has held various positions with increased responsibilities in a number of companies including Saskoil, Wascana, Ulster Petroleums, and Renaissance Energy.
